Something for the weekend?

13 04 2011

I’m still looking out of the office window looking at the one-month of sunshine we get a year thinking not of work, but what I want to wear – am I in the wrong business! I’d like nothing better than to jump into a convertible and go for a summer drive. Unfortunately I can’t provide advice the car or the successful lifestyle – I wish I knew! But I can advise you on looking good. Here are my essentials for anyone wishing to look sophisticated when going away the upcoming Easter weekend.

There are some really affordable items here for that summer look – particularly the Crew Polo shirt and the Kurt Geiger loafers.

Aviator Sunglasses – Tom Ford, Selfridges, 219.00
Pique Polo Shirt – Crew Clothing, 40.00
Trousers – Redford Easy Cotton Pant, Reiss, 35.00
Cotton & Tobacco Deerskin Driving Gloves – black.co.uk, 46.00
Leather Overnight Bag – MANAKIN by Ted Baker, 295.00
Denton Leather Belt – Tommy Hilfiger, House of Fraser, 35.00
Classic Brown Imola Loafers – Kurt Geiger, 95.00

This was just my take on it. There are loads of other possibilities so check out the above sites if you’re thinking of putting together a summer look. I also want to let you know that if you live in the London area, a new sports boutique are opening on Beak Street (just off Carnaby Street) tomorrow – Suka Sport. (www.sukasport.com). Suka is a sports boutique stocking an array of innovative and relatively unknown sports brands, all with a focus on high-tech materials and design. The owners Yolanda and Alex have carefully sourced brands from all around the world. They include Aether Apparel (amazing technical ware from LA), Thoni Mara (a German brand getting rave reviews) One Gear Clothing and running shoe designers Saucony and Newton. It’s all really cool stuff.

Anyway, the store opens tomorrow and there will be a guest appearance from a few of the owners boxing mates (David Haye included) at the launch.

Film review tomorrow!
