Spring Look: Casual Trousers

11 02 2011

On one hand it’s Friday, on the other, I have a banging headache. It feels like Janet Street Porter is singing the national anthem in my skull… I know, what a prospect!

Today’s post is about a look that is going to be very big this Spring/Summer – Utility Trousers. These can take the form of a rolled up chino or trousers that a hemmed slightly higher on the leg with a chukka boot or plimsol. It’s great that this was the number one thing that nob head bully’s would pick up on at school and now it is the look only the coolest will be sporting. It makes me realise that you should wear things because you like the way it looks and not because of what others think.

I guess that since I’m writing about it, I really like the look these trousers give you. It’s reminiscent of the preppy Ivy League athletics trousers worn in the 1930’s.

I’ve been cruising the internet like some sort of cyber curb-crawler and I’ve found some really great examples at www.topman.com, Farfetch, Dune and House of Fraser.
